I think that comment is hilarious myself! I have a hunch about who and what forum that you are talking about. I was wondering what the reason for. Anyway, although I am still decorating my layout. I am adhering the guidelines for not blocking grade crossings whenever my trains are not in use.

Good intent there, however, there needs to be at least one car length clear on both sides of the crossing so drivers have visual freedom, when there are more than one track. And there is a specific distance between them as a minimum too, though i don't remember it!

But does this change if it's an unprotected crossing such as this?:sneaky:

I think that comment is hilarious! I believe I am familiar with what forum and what member you are referring about. I was away from the forums for a few days when I saw this. I was wondering what was the reason.
Well, right now it is an unprotected crossing.:LOL:

Even if it is a private driveway and an unprotected crossing, yep. Had a crew years ago that did a 'just enough' set up at a private crossing on a siding. The result was a tragic mess, with crew off an a 30 day 'in vacation vestigation.'

Excellent example of chrome: not all surfaces that efficiently reflect visible light, equally reflect infrared light (heat).

Modeling is the act of selectively suspending reality in order to simplify, inform and/or entertain.

My model, my selection of which aspects of reality to suspend...

This is the bit I was referring to in a previous post.
I got to use my new Macro Lens for this picture.
