3870823.jpg I’m finally moving to a house with ‘spare’ space for my line. I’ve prototype historical and current topographic, aerial, and map forms to work from.

    • I want to move agricultural, commercial and industrial goods from points to from LA or Hueneme Harbor
    • There are through lines from NorCal and SoCal that include passenger rail
    • Though prototype no longer connects from Piru to Saugus, I want to model that floW
    • Though prototype no longer connects Ventura to Ojai, I will model that line for mining/mineral and agriculture.
    Other
    • I want to demonstrate a passenger network that does not exist in Ventura County to connect with Amtrak or either passenger lines in Camarillo.

My plan is to have levels 1, 0, -1 connected via 1 helix and levels 0, -1 via 1 helix

+1 Ojai to Ventura and scenic line, mining
0 Main County Loop, yards, industry, cities, agri
-1 mainly transit time bi directional to Saugus, Burbank, Simi Valley

Okay, that is all. Be well

Hi Ulo, welcome to Trainboard. Are you modeling the Southern Pacific or the Ventura County? Assuming that you mentioned Piru, SP. What scale? What year?

    Hello modeling colleague.

Southern Pacific was the dominant agent into and out of the county for a long time. Local rail is owned/managed by another party though I don’t know how the current configuration works. I guess the answer is both will operate.

I have competing desires: tracks from the early 1900-1950s for greatest connectivity, cargo from then through now, and a range of real and non-prototype industries.

    I’ll post a concept shortly.

Hi ADM,Sir. Just kidding. Modelers wear nothing in their shoulders or sleeves, Except maybe us N-Scalers. We're kinda special, doncha know.

Welcome to the Trainboard. Glad to have you aboard.

Ulo, my most exciting experience to San Diego was visiting the museum in Balboa Park in 1977-ish. Fantastic layouts.

There is indeed a large model rail museum; that has a YouTube channel I believe.

Also a large scale / ride-on train next to SD Zoo.

    Welcome Sir,
I used to live up the road from you in Summerland, Santa Barbara and Agoura. I'm looking forward to seeing progress reports on your project. Keep us posted.

    Colleagues

Thank you for the warm welcome. I will learn the rails and post my dreams and realizations on the right branchline.
