I had some more time today to work on the shoving car and decided to try the graffiti on my own instead of going generic. I still need to do the ends but this is what I have so far. I do not have a good pictur of one side but doing my best with what I have. Mike
Thanks Bruce , Not perfect but I am getting there. I took the center picture before using a white artist pencil to put in the white can graffiti. More pics as I go. Mike
Fifer: That is an amazing piece. I'm going to try to work from a photo, too. On another subject...rusty roofs. Actually on my workbench, too. I hope to see the top of my workbench again...someday.
Did some more on the Texaco station - details like pop machine, tire rack, interior cabinets, and did more on the tanker truck. Not happy with the wheels, so need to touch them up. Any suggestions on what to use as a base? It will be part of my layout.
John, those details do make a world of difference. I'd personally suggest either cardstock or styrene (maybe 030/040) sheet for a base. Mike, that caboose is a work of art!
After several weeks of applying rivet and tread plate decals, and cutting, trimming and test-fitting window glass, my four cars for the Prince George Auxiliary are finally ready for paint. I fabricated several styrene tools to aid in holding the window glass in the correct place for a test fit now, and for gluing in place after painting. Cable Car BCOL 6504 required four windows with rounded corners: Tool Wash Car BCOL 6506 has recesses for the window glass - definitely the way to go for future builds: Tim
Panel Track Car BCOL 6510 required tread plate decals on the end bulkheads, and a stack of seven 39' track panels: Off to the paint shop! Tim
