And while I hit a snag with my sleeper when it came to drilling the holes for the grab irons, I missed and now I need to plug and redo them :S , the next two car projects are starting to get ready to be worked on. The Walthers baggage is going to be a VIA NSC baggage (sorry Rapido) and unseen due to being nuked is my Kato diner which is going to be turned into a VIA Pullman diner.

took an hour to go ahead and 'sculptamold' (verb-ed) the mesa slopes...it does improve the look and will be even better after drying and sanding...I'll wait to ballast after adding a little more talus, river sand/silt/boulders, and paint the cut and add riprap...that way I can 'wet' and 'glue' in one session.
Then...some careful strata airbrushing (I received a brand new Iwata gravity feed Eclipse for my birthday today!), pinon and juniper 'scrub', telephone poles, and the cantilever signal bridges...still debating whether to add a couple of slide fences. "Arbo Canyon" is prone to rock slides, so it would follow that there would be one...
    Thanks for looking,
    ~Bruce

And in case anyone is curious, this is the result of almost two days of soaking in alcohol with occasional scrubbing on a Kato diner. In contrast, the Walthers baggage behind it was bare plastic in about 30 minutes.

Be warned though, Kato cars do not like that much scrubbing because the centre support for the sides began to crack from the centre out on both sides of the middle gap. It's an easy fix though and I don't think it was a result of the plastic reacting with the alcohol.

Pensacola Railfest coming up in 9 days-had to rush but it appears that the 'Arbo Canyon' and 'Queenman Canyon' modules will be ready for the SWARMTrak setup! (still have to ballast the endcap and add telephone poles)

Bruce I love your modules. Of course the scenery is looking great and the size of the modules seem quite manageable. A nice bonus.

I have not been very active but today I built a small 45 degree freemoN curve frame. I hope to buy some more plywood tomorrow for a sister to it and come up with a solution to not having pink or blue foam. Anyway the module is 16" wide at the endplates and just seems almost cute its so small. Yes it only has one leg. I thought it is so small and light that I would have a simple option to move the leg from one end to the other if needed.

Sweet! I saw the 7336 a few days ago. Such a good looking scheme, but based on it's performance the other day these motors are begging for a rebuild.

    Hi everyone,
I'm just finishing painting a Hallmark brass Union Pacific Steel Riveted Caboose that I've had for at least 15 years or more. I'm using Scalecoat one and Tamiya acrylic paint, five colors in all. I bake the paint at 180° after each coat. They say this isn't needed anymore but I find you can handle the model faster by doing it. The caboose is from the early 70s from a pic on the UPs 150 anniversary website.
I'm waiting on the last set of decals to come in the mail to finish it, they are two ACI plate decals.
    Here is a pic enjoy.
