Y'all seem to have completely forgotten about pre=World War II Diesels such as ALCO's HH660, which was owned by quite a few railroads. Baldwin also produced many switchers prior to the VO1000.
Well, there's already a topic for Alco/MLW's and GE's. This one started out as EMC/EMD/GMD. But you guys are right. There's also Baldwin, Lima-Hamilton (and Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton ), Fairbanks-Morse/CLC, Bombardier and Morrison-Knudson. Not to mention the one-hit (or should that be miss?) wonders: Krauss-Maffei and Ingalls Shipbuilding. And industrial/mining locomotive builders too numerous to mention. Dwight
ok-why are there no TR units??? I thought I double checked, and I see none!!! You know, Cow/calf??? Paul

Hey guys i just reaized i did something close to this a few months back (i think it may have actully been last summer), but bow i realize i have to majorly update it: http://protochoice.topcities.com/trains.html
From MLW there is also the M420W, I think only M420 has been said. There is also the M420B. There are still alot of M420Ws in service through out Canada (However, most are Manitoba west). Happy Railroading! Dane
SD89MAC??? The SD89MAC was a unit they have been developing for some time, it is essentially a SD9043MAC that looks like a SD90MAC-HII, and runs like an SD80, if I remember correctly. CPR was looking at purchasing these units but decided to purchase 50 more AC4400CW units, good grief! Happy Railroading! Dane
due to the oragously large mass confusuion out there about what a SD89MAC is I will explan the SD89MAC (name not offical yet) is a 4500HP SD90MAC-HII that uses a 12 cyl 265H as its prime mover. Its still technically in its R&D stage and wont demo till later this year. Its builders plate says SD90MAC but in fact it is not. The name is still up in the air. Names that are in consideration are SD89MAC SD85MAC SD90MAC/4500 (what EMD is temperaly calling it) Also even though the unit ran around on CP for quite some time. CP was NOT demoing the unit.
