The list shows he had a dozen power units at that time. A lot of other items were out of stock and have not been re-run: Some steam conversions and parts, most passenger cars and cabooses.
That sucks. I think he may be making more stuff soon. With the new Minitrains release there's a lot of ideas floating around. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
Last spring I had scraped up a few extra dollars, and wanted to order one of his 25 foot drovers caboose kits. But at that time all he had left were the 16 footers. No 25, 35 or 45 foot kits left. I am seeing a good number of discussions. And also DCC how-to stuff. I probably won't get the steamer. Will have enough troubles just saving enough for the passenger cars, if they don't sell out first.
Yeah. Are the Minitrains gonna be limited run? I haven't seen anything on that. So are you modeling a freelancer line or what? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
I look at that and think micro bus, where's the hippis? Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
Thanks Kevin! Since I model a fictional railway in the Caribbean, the colors fit right in. Problem would be finding hippy flower decals!
Looks great! Is there a lens in your headlight bucket? I have been trying to think of what to do for any style headlight lens these days, since MV is not around any more.
Gonna drop some MicroScale Krystal Klear in there. A couple of drops at a time till they set should do it. There is a light in there, so I do want it clear.
Oops. I'd forgotten about that trick. So went looking for my bottle, and darned if I can find it right now. Rats.
Hah. Now that you need it you *won't* find it. Just wait till you don't have a use for it and the darn thing will keep getting in the way.
Ah. These are words of a very highly experienced model railroader, or you've been watching me at my work bench!
The words of a model railroader with at least 2 of things you normally can't find when you need them. Don't think your special Ken..
That looks great! You need a small critter to move that along the line picking up all the junk they can find..
Art, Thank you. I do have the perfect 'critter.' Let me take a photo in the morning and I will post it here. Boxcab, I used MacLeod Western trucks (T-12) with Foothill Model Works wheels and wooden brake bar. Well worth it. Jim
Fantastic build. The look/weathering of the whole car seems right on. Do you have any tips for achieving that look with the wood? I was actually looking at the Morgan Hill 15' ore car kits. Seem like good quality kits. Edit: I just saw the link on Morgan Hills website about weathering wood. Was this the technique you used? -HL
