Howdy, Finally got some time to get back on line. Just wanted to update and remind folks about the Z Convention in Denver Colorado the weekend of May 4-5 2012. The web site is www.nzsc.org for additional information and schedules. We are moving past our pre-registration that guarantees a show car and some other cool stuff, so if you are waiting, don't!! ) Last year several folks missed out on the car and we are trying to get enough made to cover late registrants We have a full schedule of events and tours and as last year, tons of great raffle prizes. I'm working on a couple of one only sets that will be custom painted, weathered and detailed in unique packaging. Loren and I will be hauling our club's award winning layout across the Rockies to display as well as a number of other clubs showing their talents. See ya soon Joe MTL
Finally have a solid enough work schedule to know that I'd be able to attend, but when I attempted to FAX in my registration this week using the number on the form I received a "This number is no longer in service..." type message. Anyone know anything about this? I'd hoped to make the 1 Jan deadline by faxing it in, but at this point it probably doesn't matter if I fax or snail mail it. ~Paul E.
Paul, It will be good to meet you at the convention after all this time. I think MTL will not have any issues with your late registration. Let's just blame it on Joe.......everything else is his fault......just ask him )
Hey Joe, Any idea on which modules need to come? I think I heard we will have about 3,000 square feet for layout(s). DC and DCC again? Worked out great at Medford. The BFY is coming!
Paul, Just give Sara a call..ext 250 and let her know. I doubt we will be holding that Jan 1 deadline to close. If they do, tell Sara, Joe says it's ok. Joe
Dave, let me know what ZoCal wants to bring...we have Mr Dave, Me and Loren, a local portable layout and a group from Texas coming. We can always make more room. Joe
Joe, Sorry it took so long to get back to you. ZoCal can bring whatever you need to Denver. Definitely the BFY. My yard end. Don's T module. Lajo's logging and Y module. The "pueblo" end. The "vineyard" end (all track being replaced - out of gauge and coming loose). Any other modules needed?
David you taking my module or is it staying for Fullerton? From the last post on ZoCal I thought Lindley said that we are good for Fullerton...........
For those of you not in the know, here is the link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Z_Denver_Convention_2012 You will have to be a member of Yahoo's Groups. .
I am submitting plan 2 and plan 4 from ZoCal: plan 2 plan 4 There will be another layout which is mostly a line of modules with a 3-way module in it that can be along the top edge in the top layout or on the right side in the bottom layout.
Try this again - sorry Joe Plan 2: Plan 4: The entire piece of cardboard represents 40' x 40'. The white lines are 30' lines.
Well, about 30 days until set up time in Denver. Now is as good a time as any to start panicking. So much to do and so little time.
Hooray!:bear-biggrin: I'll be there after all, out of the sudden a "direct" flight came up which make more sense for my availability. So I've just sent my registration sheet, hotel is booked and flight too. My first ever convention, really curious to see all those layouts connected together for the first time. Ben
Arrival dates and times please: (you all should be able to edit this to keep it a nice neat simple list) Jeff and Mickie: Wednesday 8pm (6:40 at Amtrak station) David L. , Burbank Dan and Jim M. - sometime in the evening of Wednesday - driving in. Matt Pettach: Thursday late morning - Flying in.
Ben J. (Animekmodels) Thursday before lunch, staying at the Red Lion - Flying in, my direct flight was just split in two, so I predict delays (Sorry was not able to edit your thread).
