I have an HO scale oval about 10' high (a 17' long oval) running around my living/dining room divider. I want to put some trees up there behind the track with Christmas lights on them for the holidays. A quick look at Ebay did not prove encouraging. I don't need good looking trees, they are going to look fine no matter how bad they are with the lights as they are so high up and far away from viewers. But they need to be 10-12" tall to look at all realistic. There are people selling "HO" scale trees in bulk on Ebay that aren't even 3" tall! Those might work for my Z scale layout though... And there is a fellow selling very fine 12" tall trees but at a prohibitive cost, no way I'm spending $350 for a Christmas decoration...
Any advice or link to appropriate trees would be great, even just plastic armatures might work with the lights on them, thanks.

I pruned some local bushes with very tight branches for my layout. you will need to put leaves though.

the trees on wish are 3.5 cm, not even a quarter as tall as the op wants ..
i put ones about twice as tall on my HO layout, looked fine

Hmmm, thanks, maybe a scale effect or something, using smaller than scale trees with HO layouts. Obviously trees could be any size in reality but to look like tall mature evergreen trees I just came up with 12”. For my layout these will be a backdrop, I think they should form a wall of vegetation. As the original responder did I may have to make my own from real vegetation. But then it might degrade. I may just buy a “fake” Christmas tree and cut it up!
