Me no likey! It's bad enough when the dumped the most well known railroad paint scheme in the world, but to now dump all semblence of their history? Just what is it that they're smoking?
I think the new logo is very unimaginative... I think with all of the "heritage" of their lines, they could have at least drawn on some of their history instead of using some kind of generic scheme Harold
Not only do I not like the new logo, as a shareholder, I am upset that they spent $41 MILLION dollars to come up with something that looks like it was drawn on a napkin over lunch one day.
$41M??? I think they got cheated.... Maybe they should ask for a refund.. And the brass on Lou Menk Drive are OKAY with this??
This is what the BNSF sent out to employees to announce the new logo. The 2nd photo is a punch out locomotive. Unfortunately, my copy was accidentally torn in half.
That's kind of... well, it's crap. Any old person with photoshop can design that, they could've saved millions of dollars, instead of letting it get wasted.
Guys, I would tell you all not to let a new paint job bother you so much.........but I think I am to late. There is nothing we can do to change it. I am also a share holder, but I don't think my 3 shares make much difference. And by the way Moose, watch that OLD remark. We call it more mature. Shannon WP LIVES ATSF LIVES
Accidentally!?!? Well there's some true feelings showing through for you! Don, I'm not saying that you did it - I'm neutral on the whole thing. For $41M - they got jipped! But that is the cost of graphic designers these days...since the amount depends on how the logo is used, how many times it's shown, and who has the ultimate rights to it.... plus some other stuff I'm forgetting I'm sure For those of you who remember "plain wrap" items at Ralph's supermarkets... here's my $1.98 submission [ 11. Somehow, my idea of a white locomotive with black trim, with a barcode on the cabside, and the word "RAILROAD" in black boldface on the hoodsode, would look better than the (urp) new (gag) Beansniff logo Sorry, the mere thought of that scrawl made me sick. Them boys on Lou Menk Drive need to lay off that Shiner beer- it's messin' up their heads
I Liked the H1 & H2 logos but just putting BNSF across the nose is not very nice. It would be nice to keep the H1 and H2 versions of the logos on the locomotives.
There was a report over on Trainorders that the first new unit from GE with the new logo is in transit. As I do not subscribe to Trainorders, I cannot substantiate this.
Dan the BN/GN man and all tuned in, Yes, there is a picture of the new unit over at Trainorders.com You can go over to visit Trainorders.com but you won't be able to see the thumbnail of the new engine, without subscribing. Sorry, about that. Visitors are welcome. It's just that you can't participate. Now my two cents. I really wish they would keep the AT&SF cigar band styling. They could still put the new logo inside it much like they are doing with BNSF now. Actually the blue and cream with the blue bonnet on it is my favorite paintscheme next is the H1 with the Circle and Cross. After that the paintscheme was to gawdy, and still is. Someone needs to explain to me how the intitals of BNSF, can be used as the name of a railroad and not mean anything or stand for anything? Since, they've deleted the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe, out of their name. RickH [ February 28, 2005, 06:56 PM: Message edited by: BarstowRick ]
