I always said hang around the C&I long enough and you see some odd stuff. This train came through 5/31/07 I have not heard what they were hauling yet but it must have been important.

A lone CSX on the point

My sister-in-law got the photo (in Milledgeville, IL) I missed
    [IMG]

I got a couple photos I didn't know it was a special train till they were right there in front of me. It was a good thing they were moving slower then my camera.

This shot reminds me of the Minot, ND model RR club/RR museum. Right next to the BNSF highline. The BNSF crew change point is directly across the road, and the Amtrak deot is a few hundred yards west. The Soo Line/CP tracks are directly behind this building, as well. What a show when trains go by--the whole bldg shakes!:teeth:

    Very nice!

I cant tell you what it is, but undoubtedly a very special handling piece
of equipment. The coach is probably just a rider coach for the technician(s) or attendants and the tools necessary for the handling
of the equipment. It is not unusual to have one or more attendants to
accompany special shipments. Since there are no longer cabooses on
road freights, the attendants must ride in the cab. If there are more than one attendants, or special equipment, the cab would be too crowded for safety reason. It may be that the company who manufactured that piece of equipment may own or lease that coach.
Wish I could knew more, but this is just my guess. You can also bet
that the shipper paid premium prices for that move.

    A B23-7, a GP30u, and... Three equal-size fans, but it can't be a 40-series... a GP50?

    3163 is a GP50
    With ATSF, it's gotta be either a 50 or a 60...or a 40X, but the 3100s are all 50s (some derated, but not 3163).

Looks like a little Critter, and a gondola were merged.

View from the front. Look close at the window and head lights they have come up with a way to cover the glass if it might be parked in a bad location. All the glass had either a button to hang a cover on or like the head light a cover on a hinge flip closed to cover the glass.

    Mr. Train,
This same "Critter" train set was parked out behind where I work in Kennesaw GA a couple of years ago. Looks like it gets around.
