I received my two kits yesterday from Grant. The proof will be in the building (when I get around to it) but the parts look really nice and high quality. On one read through, the instructions look to be complete and clear. All the etched parts are going to make this model a real beauty.
$80 CN, approx 72 bucks, US. Not cheap, but this is a fully-cooked detail job. The mech is something you need to source. Any Kato SD40/45 mech will work. I can hardly wait for mine!
Mine came today. Grant very very good job!!! Hope to have them at work in Denver for the NSC Convention. Joe Cox Austin, TX "AustNtrak"
Thanks Joe and Jim. Glad to see they are getting to you guys so quickly. Joe, I'm thinking of making the drive to Denver, it would be cool to see a pair running around. grant
Well I got my three today. Thought I would take a couple of pics real quick to show the world. So here they are, outstanding Grant, really great work, now can I get you to produce some KM for us D&RGW and SP fans..... Packaging Items from inside Items still needed, Kato SD40 or SD45 unit, Brass wire, couplers, a couple of screws.
Congrats on 1000, Doug! That packaging looks nice.. The contents look fantastic! Let us know how well it goes together, eh? Brass wire--what for? Screws?
Gee, thanks Hemi! I didn't even realize I was in the ballpark! Do I get a coffee mug or something? hehe
Once I get some more money in the wallet I'll get a couple. For a future kit project, a SF30C, or even a C30-7, would be a great complement to the F45 kit. The SF30C is road specific, but it would be a sweet deal if it was done, especially for Santa Fe modelers, like me.
Got mine yesterday too. I gotta say I was really blown away with the quality of the whole kit. From packaging to the beautifuly detailed castings & etchings. Outstanding job Grant & thanks for including the other highly prized "jewl" in my parcel. ;-)
