Proto 2000 of Australia has announced a new hopper for production later this year. From what I have heard it certainly sounds like a War Emergency hopper. If this is indeed the case and it appears to be, the B&O, C&O, SOU, ACL and other modelers from the Eastern US should be very happy. After the "war emergency" ended most of these cars were rebuilt with steel sides and remained in service for many, many years. Some, like those of the ACL, were later rebuilt for phosphate service. You have to watch them to see what Proto USA is going to be doing.<G> Denis
Proto 2000 of Canada is an odd group. Really, if you have the right contacts any store could start a run of something and put it under the Life Like name. I.e. The C-Liners were actually done by a store about, oh, 25 minutes from me, but you can hardly find there name anywhere. Not only that, they have a hole seprate comapny made up of the same people as this hobbys tore, so in the end there was 4 companies releasing this one unit. Go figure..... Happy Railroading!!
