Hello fellow train enthusiasts. Just getting ready to get started slowly in N scale and look forward to learning a lot from all of you. I've ordered my first locomotive, a pre owned Atlas GP40 in the Sant Fe blue and yellow. I intend to repaint it as I plan on going all in in the hobby. I can't decide which line I am going to model yet, but I'm considering Boston and Maine, Penn Central or CN. I won't have a lot of space unless I can get my wife interested in the hobby so thats why I've chosen to go with N Scale. I did attempt a rather large HO scale layout 20 or so years ago but things didn't really work out. I'm kind of curious if there is any room for 3d printing in N scale or are the details too fine. I will be receiving my new printer on monday and it would be fun to be able to combine the two hobbies. I will be perusing the forum looking at others layouts and hopefully be able to come up with a decision on which line to model. Thank you for your time and thanks in advance for everything you will be teaching me Denis
Welcome to TrainBoard Denis! The "N"ormal scale is a great choice. There are several threads here about N scale 3D printing along with lots of other great info. Glad you are here.
Welcome to TB, Goatfarmer. I worked in N scale for a number of years. On a personal note, my grandfather left school at the eighth grade to earn his living herding goats. Also, I believe running gondolas with jewelry items for loads will help get the wife interested.
Hi Denis, welcome. Glad to have you on board. This N-Scale scene might offer a suggestion for something local to your area.
