Somebody get this kid some supplies !!! $400 for hand laid supplies?? $40 for a bag of Micro Engineering rail plus PC bd ties. Ouch. Robert, cut him some laser ties will ya? OK, maybe if he's talking about buying a Fast Tracks jig. That makes sense of the $400. I have an idea. Our Leichthenstein guys go to our manufacturing site in Aarland (that little Finish island off Stockholm) but there are any Finn's and Norwegians's there. Maybe we can help get it a bit cheaper for ya !
time for some updates!! I am finally finished with the benchwork on this layout. I have added a larger radius to my end module, and i have also strengthen it a bit. And i have made my other end module too. This is foldable, so i can access the closet behind it. so now i am buisy laying roadbed. I hoped that i could have the track's ready by the time Jeff got here, but that is not going to happen. I am going to cut the roadbed, but right now it is just placed all over the layout, to find out where to cut. Sorry for the Lusy pic's, Still learning the new camera.. It really suck's.. But anyways My layout is not going to fit together with other zmodules after all.. I can't get the track where it needs to be in order to connect to other modules, but that don't bother me too much, because i want it to be a stand alone layout anyway.
Progress and soon you can begin with the fun stuff. Scenery and the pleasure off watching the trains go by the landscape.
Henrick, looks good. I like your support leg for the end loop, very creative!!! Keep up the great work!! Tony B... Wasatch Z Club
After Jeff's visit, i have gotten both inspiration and parts! So i have now finished the roadbed of the layout, and i am ready to order handlaying supplies It is going to be a John Allen style time saver. this is going to be a nice scene vhen finished!
That's great Henrik! I have the Timesaver trackplan too! It adds interesting switching puzzle fun to the module:
I like that plan as well. A big area for your rolling stock to find a home plus looks like contiguous running so you don't get bored.
Glad I could inspire. It was a great vacation for me !!! That MAC came out nice. Is that a Faller Chemical Warefare site in the foreground?
That is good Rowan! That's what i like about forums! you can get ideas from others, and others can comment your work, give you tips and so!
Thank you Rob I may send the stuff today, but it is so much ice outside that i don't think i will survive to the post office, so i will do it after new years eve
a question about z track I am new to z scale and have a question which you may be able to assist me with. I have a starter set and have decided upon a layout; however, where do I go to get individual track pieces. It seems to me that many of the Marklin tracksets are packaged in bundles of 10. What if I just need single section or two? Is there any palce I can go to buy track piecemeal? Thanks, Mike
Mike, welcome to Trainboard. You can get individual pieces in your local hobby shot, otherwise, look in ebay. If you know what pieces you need, then I suggest that you look at Needful of Toys. They are in Germany, but you cant beat his prices.
Mike, do you know wich pieces do you need. I could check with my hobby shop if they have it in stock. I got to warn you, they charge full retail.
