Will be acquiring a Lionel layout, with equipment, Monday or Tuesday next week!
Got a forwarded Email, from past Vice President of railroad club. Stating if I wanted to check it out.
A very simple 4x8 foot, with Enlarged out main, and inner siding, or vice versa. Includes at least 3 operating cars, a couple of extra, and comes with the Lionel 671, PRR S-2 steam turbine 6-8-6.
A few scenic items, and the self reversing hand car, that changes direction, upon hitting bumpers at end of track! All FREE.

Owner has no use for it, and rest of family does NOT want it! Been swapping Email for the last week or so, regarding it. Will probably head to Boulder Tuesday, as mentioned, to pick it up. Nice thing is, the Maverick has the Flex Bed system in it. So, adjusting tailgate and tossing a couple of 2x4/2x6 in, and I can carry up to 15-17 sheets of plywood/drywall, FLAT.
Will have to post pics, after I pick it up! Not sure where I'm gonna keep it, other than propped up in garage.

That's great. As I was reading your post, I was thinking that your new truck would be just the ticket to bring the layout home. (y)

Just gotta get a board cut to fit. Tailgate adjustment as simple as moving the cables up slightly!
Don't expect issues, other than other drivers following me!

Just don't scratch that pretty blue paint! Or is that a secondary concern?

Drop in plastic Bedliner installed. Going to get spray in, eventually. Also has the Flex Bed system built in. A couple of 24/2x6 laid across fender wells, and tailgate adjusted, via the cables, and I can haul 15 or so sheets of plywood/drywall, FLAT. Has many advantages over the Ranger!!
Probably be selling the Ranger at some point, I f I can get my rear in gear and do something!!

No layout. no room for one!
Have a few photos, that were sent to me. I'll
get newer ones on Tuesday! Got the boards I need, for the support system in the Maverick.
Layout will sit flat as a result! Just gotta trim 2 boards tomorrow.

A couple of photos, after I got home and unloaded. Nothing with layout in back

Flexbed system. 2x6 in back, closest to cab. 2 vertical 2x4 about mid bed. Loose boards are leftovers. Black paint, or a DIY bed liner of boards.
Bakflip MX4 trifold tonneau cover, folded up, to help with unloading.

The layout. Really quite simple, with several operating accessories. Plus a couple in original boxes.

The long, disconnected track includes 2 bumpers, for the operating gang car. Reverses direction, when it hits the bumpers.
I've got a few other simple plastic kits I can add to the railroad, plus at least 3 more accessories:
    Operating Wig Wag signal
    Operating crossing guard shack
Rather large, lighted yard style light.

Perfect for the smaller MTH equipment in my collection. But also for the Marx stuff I have, plus the Lionel stuff I have.
Lionel from 1954-1956. Lionel passenger train from 1929-1935.
A Marx freight train set, from approximately 1955-1956. Exact date unknown. Info I have, is from a YouTube video.
    And 2 Marx trains:
A 4 car passenger set, from 1935, and a 5 car freight set, also from 1935.

Have 2 different Commodor Vanderbilt locomotives, and 2 different tenders!
Can someone with a bit more knowledge tell me with locomotive goes with which tender??
And which locomotive/Tender combo goes with which set?

    Locomotives in question:

Commodore Vanderbilt, lighted, on freight train

The new layout gives you a great start, Keith. Hopefully you can find a place to set it up. A small layout can ge a lot of fun.

WOW. You did very, very well getting this layout. Usually they aren't much more than junk. This is good stuff! Did you also get a transformer

Yes. A Lionel ZW, I think, with 2 train operation, and whistle.
All together, I've got about 5 boxes of stuff.
Plus another 5 buildings I was able to pick up free, at railroad
club meeting about a year and a half ago. Give or take!

Quite pleased with what I was able to obtain! Trains themselves, look virtually brand new!
Some signs of running, on pick up rollers, but not a lot!

A ZW will operate four trains at once, plus powerful enough to run a whole bunch of accessories. Picture of it?

The engine, freight cars and gang car look fabulous, Keith. I hope you are able to find a place for the layout so you can run these beauties.
