Hi all, my wife has gotten the Garden Railroad bug really bad, and now that we have a house, she wants to set up a Railroad in the yard. I have designed a small area that will contain the RR, and will have a friend who is in the landscape business to help with the area. We have decided to model the ACL (my wife loves purple [IMG]) in the early to mid 50's. My reasoning in this is because the smaller 40 foot cars and early diesel engines don't need as big of an area before they look cramped. I also noted that there was a wide selection in this era, and of coarse the ACL purple was long gone by the end of the 50's. I have been modeling N, and HO for about 20 years now, but I could use some pointers on this new way to run scale trains. Is there anybody that runs G in the Rockford IL area? I would love some help. Thanks.

    Welcome to our TrainBoard family!

BNSF7173, contact: yvanmarl@globtrotter.net who is : Yvan-Martin Levesque. He has just recently built a G scale yard layout. His site has photos and how-to stuff, and is one who communicates well. He is in Canada, however.

I used to work out in Loves's Park so I am familair with Rockford. Never found but one hobby shop, and no clubs back in 1980, but it was a bad winter -7 degrees! Burr-r-r-r-r!! Glad I retired to Texas :D

There are others here who will help you too, I am in HO now.
