Hello... Michael here. I had an extensive HO layout in the 1970s. Took up 2 ping-pong tables. Lots of fun. But, now I live in a tiny apartment and am looking for a new hobby. ... and in walks Z Scale. Yes, they are a bit hard to work with and are kind of pricey. But I can have an entire layout with 3 loops, town, mountains, ricer, people, vehicles... all in a 20x30 inch layout.... you get the idea.

I am really having fun putting this together, but am making a lot of mistakes. Hopefully, I can bounce my questions off of y'all..... save me time and money. After all, 30 heads are better than one. Except when knitting a sweater.

Thanks for accepting me onto the board and I look forward to reading about your experiences... especially in Z Gauge.

Welcome aboard! I’m working an Nn3 layout which uses Z scale track. Very tiny and tough to put locos and rolling stock on the track for sure!

It's basically old time steam era N-gauge trains running on Z-gauge trackage, so its like narrow gauge trains.
