I have been watching this unfold, and it does look like it's about to get ugly. It's sad either way, as 3 railroaders needlessly lost their lives.
I had not been following this one but the term "cover up" makes it sound bad. Any theories on what the cover might be?
The train was not secured - PERIOD. To attempt to pump off a emergency application with at 15K ton train stopped on a 2% down grade is a recipe for what actually happened, as the train was not secured by use of hand brakes prior to pumping the air back in the train.
