If you are the gutter cleaner of the household.....try to collect and save the shingle stone that asphalt shingles always shed.

Plenty of worthwhile uses on your model railroad.

Nice idea but the apartment building has gutter shields and a live in manager. Oh well.
I thought maybe you were going to suggest to look there for logs.

Nice way to recycle that stuff.

Idea: start a gutter cleaning business, charge people for your services, and take home the shingle stone for your trains. Win-win!:)

Great idea and just a thought, if you can't get to the gutters to find that stuff, you could also look for an old shingle or two somewhere and rake off some that way.

Cool idea. And if you live where there is no access to such gutter residue, I'd bet you have a friend with a house, somewhere in your vicinity.

With the trees the city planted in the '50s dying off we don't have to go up a ladder. But, I'm sure it wouldn't be correct to sell it. So I'll just collect for my own layout.
