Some of the TrainBoard members have excellent websites with NS photos! I know Jeff Horstman has a great site at: http://www.trainweb.org/cnotp/ The NS forum moderator has a site somewhere, eh Chris?? Harold
Wes Reminder has a good selection of photos, but according to the site, the NS photos have not been updated since November 2000: http://www.trainweb.org/conrail/ns/locos.htm Harold
I used to Harold, but I moved 4 years ago and changed internet providers and lost access to it. It's gone now, but I have recently changed providers again and plan on reviving the Thoroughbred Home Page when I find the free time to put a new site together. Right now I am too busy with modeling projects for customers, though... Chris
Another question are the NS SD80MAC's normally kept together on trains? I was wondering because I want to model some in HO scale. I am moving from San Diego CA to Sebring FL so I would like to have some nice east coast power.
For the most part, the NS SD80MAC's are in captive coal train service in Pennsylvania and from the photos I have seen are usually used in pairs. Also, only three of the NS units have been repainted into NS black and white. Those are the 7202, 7204 and 7213. The remainder are still in Conrail paint with renumbering patches. Kato is supposed to be releasing the SD80MAC's in HO later this year, so it might be worth waiting a bit. The alternative takes quite a bit of time and effort to get a nice looking model. I have one nearly completed and I want to get it out of the way before the Kato's arrive. Here is a great site on the SD80MAC's by Scott Harris and Tony Kimmel: EMD's Finest -- The SD80MAC Chris
Marshall, Are you looking for something specific in NS? I have probably 200 NS pics on my website, but I have a great many more in my photo "archives" that need to be scanned and include Southern units from ~ 1985 on. Some times, I take requests Harold
Thanks for the plug, Harold! I have roughly 3,000 NS locomotive photos currently online. I have photos of all but one of the SD80MACs and am now attempting to get all of the SD70Ms.
Let me check my achives I have NO SD80's, few SD70's, and some SD60's (in various configurations: SD60, SD60I, SD60M, etc. ) Harold
