Reeeaaaallllllyyyyyyyy!!!!! Well, if that is the way they feel about it, then we should just ignore anything they decide to release in the future!!! Oh, wait a minute, I already ignore them. Well, except for the 0-6-0 loco. Actually it's the internal gears I like!!! Marklin does not own Z any longer!!!!! They dropped the ball long time ago!!! Hobo Tim
Karin's Dizzyland, the amount of work that has gone into this is visible in the video [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6juehZKWmE"]YouTube - Karin's Dizzyland[/ame]
Lajos, whipped up a loco and a couple of logging cars at the show, he actually built the logging cars at the show with some HO parts [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClsqQzA_8Ig"]YouTube - Lajos Zthek logging cars[/ame]
1, 2, 3 Swept by Z ! (quote by Robert Ray). What a show !!! Got sorta panicky at the end of Thrusday's setup, getting the layout to fit the space, untested and last minute scenic'd modules and all but it ran all DCC by Friday morning for the media romp. The DC layouts up in BYOZ part of the central show area faired better. But Saturday brought a whole new spirit to the show and Z was there. I'll post some overhead pix and such as soon as I can process them. Late, just got back from the 6 hr drive, unloading and getting caught up for the disasters at work tomorrow. .
To everyone who made it out to the NTS, you witnessed History in the making!!! I want to give my heartfelt thanks to everyone who showed up because this could not be done without all of you! I meet and spoke with some amazing people... The Best, Chris
Wow! Karin's Amusement park is just plain wow! There is a full time job done on this layout.:bear-shocked: Who did all the electronics? Ben
Ben, Karin did them all with some help from Loren and I am proud to say I helped too, but very little only on one ride. You will be surprised how clean the back side is too, simple mechanism with great ideas. Lorens Road was a hit, I thought I had a video of it I need to check my camera. The cars running on the roads were very realistic, the bigger scales cannot even come close to the realistic running look as this had. I'll post more soon. Kim
As a group, z scalers did a outstanding job. I just wish I was there, but all the pictures and video help ease the pain. Kim, do post more pictures and video. Is tonight too soon. Is tonigh to soon.
It would be realy neat to see the underneath of the dizzyland table, either as pictures or video. Ben
Ben, I dont think anyone got a chance to take the pics from the bottom. Here is the heli tour of the layout [ame="http://youtube.com/watch?v=oE9F_s5tydI"]YouTube - NTS Layout tour Part-1[/ame] [ame="http://youtube.com/watch?v=4rr6BBb4U9I"]YouTube - NTS Layout tour Part-2[/ame] Kim
Ha ha ha , no, I meant some photo during its construction, I can only imagine the disaster if someone would have turn the module upside down to take pictures of it, outch!. But since you were picking my curiosity by saying "You will be surprised how clean the back side is too, simple mechanism with great ideas" I thought that it could surely gives some good info to any Pickering electronic modelers out there, me included. At this point it will be Karin and Loren decisions if they want to share this information. Thanks fo the vids by the way, they are very fun to watch. Ben
Not only did Lajos build those logging cars at the show but on Thursday he took a couple of hours off, went home and using the European loco that he sells, he quicky modified the shell, built a mechanism, weathered the box cab and he had it back running at the show on Thursday afternoon. If you were a Hungarian Freedom Fighter in your youth, you learn to get things done quickly. Bill El Toro, CA
Ben, Karin worked many hours with a little help from me to get it up and running, but we have decided to redo some of the electrical controls and the boat ride before we shoot pictures of the bottom view. Karin came up with some components that most of us would not have thought of for making the movements and at first I didn't think she knew what she was talking about........but she sure proved me wrong. She proved that "thinking outside the box" does work. I can't even find the box to think outside of in the first place. Would you believe that there is very little electronics to this layout? Kim did design a drive mechanism to move the Viking ship and there are two instances of circuit boards for lighting effects, but mainly just simple components so when you see the bottom view, you'll understand how simple this all was......really. Wow, the highway looks great, and again congratulation to Robert for the great job on the modules. Also, thank you Kim. The videos and photos are great for us who couldn't make it.
