Speaking of North Adams, MA, here's a photo of the station with the B&M tracks in front, and a B&A train in the background. I'm guessing it's around 1900 based on the B&A tender design.

Hoosac Tunnel & Wilmington's 2-6-0 No. 6. The 25 mile long HT&W (aka The Hoot Toot & Whistle) operated south from Wilmington, VT to Rowe, MA and despite its name, didn't reach the B&M's Hoosac Tunnel. The line was abandoned in 1971.

... didn't seem to feel the need for high capacity tenders.

We mustn't forget the St. Johnsbury and Lamoille County which ran some 200 miles of rural line in northern VT. It shut down in 1995.

Let's include the CP too. In my work some 40 years ago, we used to route our carloads from the MEC to the CP at Mattawamkeag, ME. [Photo by Bruce S Nelson, 10/09/1973].

At Bellows Falls, Vermont 1964 after Nelson Blount gave up on the State of New Hampshire to support his efforts at North Walpole and moved his Steam Town collection across the river to the old Rutland tracks and property between Bellows Falls and Rutland.

I believe this bridge was preserved as a historic landmark?

Aside from the trim around the roofline, it looks like it could have been the prototype for the old Heljan/Con-Cor furniture factory building kit.

My slide is only 34 years old, but old enough I guess. North Walpole, VT (06/13/1988)

I bought one of these in the early 1970s in N Scale from Con-Cor:

Another semi-old slide, this from 06/12/1988 at Burlington, VT. Builder's date is 3-56; it's a former Rutland car.

    That'd be great for a hi-rail excursion!
