    Starting Feb. 27, Coree Cuff Lonergan will serve as Director Transportation/General Manager for Broward County, Fla., overseeing flagship services such as Broward County Transit (BCT), paratransit (TOPS!) and rail. She succeeds retired Director Chris Walton.

    With more than 25 years of transportation experience, Lonergan worked most recently at Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), holding the positions of Vice President Project Development and Implementation Planning as well as acting Executive Vice President (EVP), Capital Delivery and Rail Operations Control Center. As acting EVP, she led a workforce of 600; managed all rail movement system-wide; constructed and delivered safety-critical infrastructure projects; developed and planned new projects; executed a new system signal renewal program; and provided engineering and technical services for the operations and maintenance department. Lonergan was also Managing Director of the Silver Line Operations and Maintenance Phase 2 procurement effort. WMATA’s 11.4-mile, six-station Silver Line rapid transit service launched in November 2022.

    Prior to joining WMATA, Lonergan was Chief Engineer, Maintenance of Way Capital Projects for CSX, and a civil engineer with the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority.

    IANA


    At IANA, Ryan Houfek, Chief Marketing Officer of Direct Chassis Link, Inc. (DCLI), will be assuming an At-Large seat on the Board of Directors, effective Jan. 25, 2023. He fills a Director vacancy created by Rob Cannizzaro, who stepped down to join the IANA staff as Chief Operating Officer, effective Jan. 30, 2023.

    Cannizzaro served previously as Vice President of Operations at Virginia International Terminals. A marine industry veteran, he has also worked for Hamburg Sud and CMA CGM.

    “Ryan is a welcome addition to the Board of Directors, and we look forward to benefiting from his active participation and his intermodal industry experience across multiple stakeholders,” IANA Board Chair Shelli Austin said.

    “We are excited to welcome Rob as part of the IANA team,” said IANA President and CEO Joni Casey. “His professional experience and leadership will benefit IANA and the industry.”

    In related developments, on Jan. 6 IANA installed its 2023 Board of Directors and Officers.     KCATA


    At KCATA, Frank White III is President and CEO, following service in an interim capacity since August 2022. He is the first African American to lead the organization as CEO.

    According to KCATA, White in the past six months “has worked to add transparency to operations, as well as a deeper integration of data and analytics.”

    While joined KCATA in 2016 as Senior Marketing Manager and quickly rose through the ranks to become Chief Marketing Officer; Director of Strategic Planning and Development; and Vice President of RideKC Development Corporation, KCATA’s real estate development subsidiary.

    “Frank has proven he’s the right leader for the job,” KCATA Board of Commissioners Chair Melissa Bynum said. “His vision, commitment and tenacity have fueled new life into the organization, not to mention his qualifications are spot on. The Board is aligned with Frank’s leadership approach and we look forward to working with him to achieve KCATA’s mission.”

    In related developments, KC Streetcar on Jan. 21 extended weeknight service hours to midnight in response to an increase in ridership and downtown activity.
