Hello I'm looking for pictures of MKT Tie Plant in Dennison, TX it was W J Smith Wood preserving plant i don't know what it is today if it still there. Thanks Kenneth New Zealand
No pics, but I can tell you it was demolished and the creosote-laden dirt removed & disposed of. I am guessing around the late 1980s, but I'm not sure, If nobody here has them I would suggest the MKT group or Railspot group on Yahoo, or the MKT group on Facebook. There are plenty of Katy folks around who would have info on the old plant. IIRC, the narrow-gauge switchers were even immortalized on film, and may be in one of Steve Goen's Klassic Katy DVDs.
Thank you i have Steve Goen's Klassic Katy DVD and that were i saw it .It was still going in 1988 by the DVD but by W J Smith Wood preserving. but i will look the groups up see what i can find.
