Railway crane for technical train. This is Shapeways 3D printed model.
There is a possibility to set an arm in different position and rotate the crane.

    IMG_0425.JPG

    IMG_0426.JPG

It is also possible to rotate base supports to have option for "in transport" and "in operation" modes:

Very nice crane! Did you also print the trucks?
Black warning stripes on yellow can easily be done by using warning stripes on a transperant decal sheet to cover a yellow painted patch.

All parts of model are 3D printed on Shapeways:https://www.shapeways.com/product/E...-edk-300-2?optionId=41949118&li=user-wishlist
There are some similar models by the same designer with different type of an arm of the crane.
THX for advice concerning stripes. Hand painting is not that acurate...

    Some fridge and fruit cars.
To make fridge cars Marklin standard fridge (beer) cars were repainted and some vents were added as on Polish cars. The rusty one has sides slightly longer which was not an easy transformation. Finally I had to make it rusty in order to cover some not well done places.
The fruit car is Marklin "Banana car" with added vents.

Love what you are doing. If it doesn't exist, make it yourself. It's how z scale started.

I have to add one thing. The design of Shapeways model is done by friend from German Z-scale forum.
The real car looks like this:

Finally I got decals for 3D printed doubledecker cars. They were weathered, windows were added using ClearFix by Humbrol. The final result:

Some progress with the second version of double-decker. This is 3D printed model.
There are some differences when you look at the end of the car. Previous one had rounded ends. The second difference will be livery of the car.

The decals look very nice, specially the small yellow warning signs on the front. The rusty roof looks realistic. It blends in very nice into your layout.

I started to work on diesel engine ST44 by PKP. This is USSR build engine used also in DDR, Hungary, Czechoslovakia and Poland. The model is #D Shapeways designed by fellow modeller from Germany and slightly redesigned to match Polish version. The most visible difference is big lights at the pront of locomotive and some roof changes.

The shell was cleaned and painted, windows added (Humbrol Clearfix), some hoses at one front added. There are also hand made buffers. I made it using nails and electric wire insulation. The front part of the buffer was shaped using Dremel.

Looks great! You did get it very smooth. Coupler and air hoses are very nice details.

Did you already find the right chassis for it?

    The shell of the locomotive:
    https://www.shapeways.com/product/Y...gagarin-quot-spur-z-gehause?optionId=61296136
has been designed for the specific chassis - Marklin BR110/111 electric locomotive. Positive of that designer's choice is that this is relatively cammon and cheap model. Total length of the locomotive is also fairly accurate. There is one big drawback of that choice. BR110 is 4 axle locomotive. ST44 is 6 axle locomotive :(. You will see the result of the locomotive with the chassis soon and will be able to judge the whole project.

3d printed replacement truck sides with a fake mid wheel might work for you.
