But as you accumulate them does your collection acrue value? Hmmm. Maybe if we have too many we can sell a few? What? No market? Oh well, I tried.

    Good!

I've done plenty else in life, but through it all, trains have been there and I am sure glad for them.

yep, I'm slowly converting my gramps to model railroading. once I finish this 2 x 4 NP layout, I'll be working on a GN one(his favorite RR), then possibly a BN one that can be interchanged with the SP&S. gives me something to do with all of this idle time I seem to have acquired an abundance of.

Some day when you have less spare time, (ye olde job), you'll enjoy the idea of getting home at night, and having this hobby to divert the mind from reality of 24/7. You will likely be guilty of some daydreaming and watching the clock... :)

    50 in a few months... wow...:startled:

Rick, when you're old, you're almost expected to be grouchy. That's why I've been practicing.:teeth:

They say age is mostly attitude. So, I consider myself to be only 19½. Now if I could just get by body and mind to go along...
    [That is 19 years & ½ of a century.]

an ancient Chinese proverb states that"You are only as old as your back"...add ten years to my age for each vertebrae that I have broke, and I am 107....

Is this sampling taken before or after mandatory morning Ibuprofen? My "Chinese" age appears to decrease noticeably during the hour after taking drugs.

I'm currently the "Magnum age" of 44, turning 45 - another fine "caliber" - on November 8. (When I turned 42, I noted that my age and pants size matched. So far the one has stayed constant.)

51 years old and still plays with trains! I often tell my friends that someday I will that old man you see in old b&w B movies. You know the one, lives in the desert in an old travel trailer, wears a straw hat and dirty coveralls and carries a shotgun. "Get off my property!" lol

My Grandpa got me into model railroading. Keep spending time with your gramps. I did, and found myself wanting more time yet when he left us just ten days shy of his 97th birthday a few years back.

Here he is, clowning around on SP #1 60some years ago (I guess?).

Great picture, Adam. I spent a lot of time with my grandfather. Learned a lot, including skills that enable me to model railroad, likely much better than otherwise.
