    Hey Colt,

Thanks for dropping in again! We will have to make plans to operate in Coweta soon. C&S has appeared to have gone the way of the old GCMRA location. I hope we get to meet soon!

    Thanks,
    Dale

Unfortunately yes, they got flooded out when Oologah opened the flood gates. They have not reopened and it looks like they won’t.

I did not know that. I didn’t know they were that close to the verdigris river. Pretty major loss.

Yes we were just talking about the C&S at Steve's KCS session this weekend. As far as I know, but I've been wrong plenty of times, the family was starting to look at shutting things down before the flood. I hated to learn that as the C&S was special to me because it was where I attended my first layout op session. Unless I'm just not invited to them, we need more layouts in this area to hold op sessions.

But yes we will have to get together one of these sessions

Kevin, I hope this screenshot helps to show how close the C&S was to the river with the lake just north of them.

I remember seeing the layout when they first started. All of the mainline was installed and some of the spurs. Wasn't able to go back so unfortunately I didn't get to see it completed.

While I never got to see it, I knew George from the old Rogers County Club days before the N Scale guys split off. George was always very nice to us HO guys. Fine gentlemen.

I remember when George set up the layout as well. Unfortunately I had a young family and could not afford the membership. I have visited it a couple of times over the years. I know George’s wife was very gracious allowing the layout to stay in existence even after George’s passing.
Bummer that this communal layout has seen its last days!

Thanks Colt, I know the area just didn’t realize it was that close.

Just a bit of work and weathering on a club loco, I like the looks of the GP 30. Repainted the handrails and added a bit of weathering and sill stripes.

I’ve started some new scenery on the East channel side. Blue Knight Energy is getting an emulsion loading dock. It’s ready for piping.

Nice work Dale. I have always liked the looks of those old Geep 30's too, they kinda look like a bulldog to me. The scenery is coming along nicely too. I gotta get my scenery MoJo back and get out there and get something done.

To me the GP30 has a classic look that stands out like some of the classic cars do. Is it a GP7 or 9, GP38 or 40, or what SD series you are looking at might get confusing, but you knew when you saw the GP30.

The scene from the movie Twister.

    Going Greenage.

Yes the gp30 was as iconic as the 57 chevy

BKEP asphalt emulsion tanks and dock. I have to finish the crossings into and out of it. I had decided this would not be rail served, but I ended up adding a unloading point behind it.
