Here is a web site that tells you how to modify a tortuous to safely power a frog so you dont fry the pinouts between 2and7 on the machine. The lever switch is about a dollar. also they show the 8 pin plugs for the machines that I found at Jim's trains online

I don't know what the amperage rating on the tortoise pinouts are, but are they so low they'd be susceptable to getting fried?

May I suggest you look at the instruction sheets at the circuitron site.

The point here was to show other ways of doing things and if a sever short did happen and you couldn't get to it right away I think it be better to fry a one dollar lever switch than a 15 dollar tortoise, the point here is that with this setup you now have the ability for signals and feedback to the loconet or DS64 to control the turnouts with the DPDT on the machine rather then using these up JUST to control a frog I also believe that this is very cost effective considering ALL the other addons and accessories on the market. Just saying Alan c.
