Na ah, you unleashed so you have to tell us what was wrong and how you fixed it.

The problem was with one of the double-headed GP9's I had on the track, not the power source.

When I measured the voltage at the 1300 with the locos on the track I had low voltage. With one of the track power leads disconnected, no problem so I pulled the lead loco off the layout and the train ran fine with one so I assume I have a short somewhere in that loco.

Which leads me to another 1300 question, I JUST received a new AZL RS3. It runs fine but definitely slower at full power than my MTL locos. Is this normal?

The short answer is "yes". AZL locos are geared slower than MTL locos.

I had to throw out my 1300 earlier this year because it was running some locos slower, and some at ballistic speed. It was just setting random outputs, probably based off loco resistance or something. I probably could have repaired it, but it was considered part of my "old electronics" that I decided to get rid of. Old and big are out. Moving storage media is out. Big and heavy is out.
