Hello out there fellow train goers! I have a question. I picked up some train stuff tonight, and am curious. Which is better, the 697 or the 670 track trips? If someone out there could let me know, any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, does anyone know the value to these sort of things? Also, in one of the boxes is what looks like a very small engine part to a what says AF 336, and then also two white boxes, very small, that on the outsides of them, say they are from recitifier engineering and supply co. re-539, and cannot figure out what they are. If anyone can tell me anything about this stuff, I will be very happy, thanks! [IMG]

Argh! It's been between 35, and 40 years since my last operating American Flyer.

Trips are usually for actuating an accessory. And have a specific assignment. So can't say if those are interchangable.

The rectifier unit sounds like what we used to need to operate a reversing loop.

Welcome to TrainBoard! :D Wish I could help you with your questions. I have a friend who owns a train store. I'll see if he has any books that might be of use to you.

    Cheers,
    Greg
