These photos proved to be rather difficult to take since they required shooting them over a rather tall chain link fence.

I moved on through Ogden to the yard next to the railroad museum. Here I caught the UTA FrontRunner departing Ogden.

I still need to resize and upload some additional pictures.

    More pictures to follow soon!

The next day we headed down to Salt Lake City and checked out a couple of old depots.

The first depot is the old Rio Grande Depot which now houses State offices and serves as an exhibit hall. The day we arrived the were setting up for an art show in the main lobby.

After a full day of hanging out in SLC my family and I headed to a hotel in Price, UT. The next day we drove around a little bit in Price and Helper before heading back home.

I came across a Little Giant Crane in Price.

I took this opportunity to locate several box cars that I have been noticing from the highway in past travels.

Taking the back road into Helper I came across several untouched D&RGW No Trespassing Signs.

I have been trying to catch a good view of one of the Pabco Insulation cars that are usually out near Fruita, CO. Well I finally captured one of them sitting in Helper!

As if finding the Rio Grande hopper was not enough for one day....

How about un-patched SP 177 sitting in the Helper yard!

Before we left I jumped across the highway to see what I might find at the Utah Railway yard.

Looks like you had a great trip! I gotta plan another day trip tp Helper and Price area for some more photos. I need to goto a national forest between Price and Duchesne. Also would like to head to Sunnyside for some pics too.

Nice close up of the engine and I was wondering if they still had that old caboose. It used to be out more in the open and could see it from the UP mainline then they moved it.

There usually is a trash train that heads up there. Also there is a coal loader there as well. The coal mine is close by. This used to be the Carbon County Railway line. Goes from Mounds to Sunnyside.

Thanks for the info. I might just have to check this out.

    Me too!

    Thanks!

Strange but true. And to think that I there is a second one that has not been touched in the same area as well!
