<font color="336633">My Dad (Alan) and I went to Barnetby today to catch some class 60's again befor they all go. Here are some photos of todays action...... sorry if they not that good I am still trying to get used to the delay in taking digital pics rather than using my 35mm SLR.
<font color="336633">As you can see only a few class 60's paid us a visit Here is the list of all the Locos (and railcars) we saw (without repitition). 60082 66229 66176 158... Didnt get the number 60017 66528 66074 158781 153365 66081 66205 158766 66213 60053 66148 158760 66607 66185
Very cool stuff. looks like I need to keep my eyes open on ebay for some new rolling stock to add to my little collection of internationalk stuff.
Nice image captures, Matt. I don't know what brand of camera you are using, but it may be possible for you to depress the shutter plunger half-way to establish focus and aperture before the train arrives into view, then depress it all the way for an instant image capture when you want. This is the way it works with Canon, Olympus, and Sony cameras, and this method sure relieved a bunch of frustration for me..... Good Luck....
I gave Matt my old camera, to get him into digital and away from that old fashioned film He commandeered my computer to get his pictures up before I had a chance I have some to add to this later
I have always liked the class 60's and the throaty growl they make when working hard. I think I will look out for a model of one to put on display (and maybe sneak a run on my layout)
Good news is that the 'live' class 60 fleet has grown in the week i've been away, up over 30 in traffic from the 24 it was at. Also, Hornby have apparently sent out pre-production shots of their upcoming class 60 models, keep an eye on the modelling mags!
Martyn, how does the Lima class 60 look? - have not seen one in the flesh. I may just acquire a 60 for display - and do you know if the large coal hoppers produced by anyone?
Alan I think I just saw a lima class 60 on ebay yesterday. sorry I know this isn't a train buying place, but I am perusing the Bay quite a bit lately so I thought i'd send on the tip.
Yeah, I am watching three Lima 60's right now. Just to see if they finish low enough to snatch They are in sector liveries, though
