Four more cars, these from an S, T, U and V road. Seen are a somewhat-swaybacked SAL gon [Montgomery AL - 02/1986], a TASD boxcar [Prattville, AL - 09/1988], a UP reefer [Montgomery, AL - 11/1990] and a classic Vermont 40' boxcar [Burlington, VT - 06/1988] with roofwalks, ladders and high brake wheel.
Three way... kinda. Local CSX waits for the main as an NS train clears it's main. Then, a couple minutes later, CSX through clears the main 11/21/2013
Yes. However, I sure wish it was closer to her old home grounds. She would then be much easier to see and enjoy...
But, I for one, am glad to see it there! It was great to hear and see it operational and working! And it isn't that far from my place!
A look at N&W and NS business cars, including the Lamberts Point at Roanoke [08/1983], the Ohio at Montgomery, AL [05/1989] and the Kentucky at Atlanta, GA [08/1989].
Went chasing trains today. Youtube is being problematic, but here's a few pics of today's fun. This is a stone bridge west of Jefferson, IA, And the bridge just east of it, where I sat in the drizzle for an hour waiting for another train that didn't happen. Was peaceful though! Just north of Grand Junction is a plant which has it's own loco, Then of course to the Boone Scenic! But I didn't miss these gons in Grand Junction, The Boone switch working in the rain, And a last coal empty at Beaver, IA.
Eastbound stacks on the wayback machine, from about 2004 west of Cheyenne, WY, near Coastal Chemical.

Akirasho, do any interlocking towers still stand in the Dayton area? With the NYC, B&O, PRR and interurbans, there used to be many there.
"Des Lacs Stacks" Late into the evening, Chicago-bound steamship stacks race east away from the fading sun. Since BNSF largely seems to run eastbounds when the evening light is great, you get the glint shot. Thanks, Uncle Warren!
https://www.daytonhistory.org/park-map/ 24. WATCHTOWER (1907) served Dayton as a railroad watchtower from 1907 to 1976 near the intersection of West Fifth and Broadway Streets. An attendant manually operated railroad crossing gates from inside the tower. No interlockings, but several of these were used in the city. One is preserved at the Park (no pic). I'm sure interlockings were used but none survived Indeed, I suspect that many locals don't remember that Dayton had a train station!. The only thing left is the foundations that are still used as part of the elevated train track downtown. https://www.libraries.wright.edu/community/outofthebox/2016/06/07/daytons-union-station-early-years/ Even the concrete platforms have eroded away.
This beautiful NYC chair car caught my eye in July 1989 at Ivy, NC (near Marshall) on an NRHS fantrip. She was built for the NYC by Budd in 1947.
