Found this, going through photos on computer.
Looking for my photo(s) of the Ootton Beet hopper, when I saw it in Denver!

Came across this unusual visitor to Denver, April 7, 2007:

    An original SD40! Cool catch!

While CP local job H12 was switching in the ex-Soo Minot yard, this unique unit was buried in the train and came out briefly in the sunshine. If only NPR painted their fleet like this!!

Former Canadian National GP9RM, same number, retired from CN in 2013.

Looks like it found a new hobby in retirement, and snappily dressed too!:)

Pretty cool! But, does Atlas make a GP40M model??
Or would it have to be scratchbuilt??
Wouldn’t mind adding this unit to my collection, as
    another unusual piece.

I'm sure a stock GP40 can be altered to appear like this one, or at least approximate it closely.

Including the patches of grey primer and an obviously hand-painted second "L" (must have been added by a real dingaling...:p ).

And talk about coincidences... SSW 7277 and NPR 7278 with a few posts of each other! Or is it a coincidence...?:cautious:

Looks like they touched up a lark dark gray loco with lark light gray paint.

"Hey George, are you SURE that's lark dark gray?"

    "Absolutely!"

    :D

When I was there, the tracks looked like they were realigned.

Quite the makeover for WFAX 602, which started out as B&O 7598:

I have looked at this photo several times now. Cannot help but to chuckle, each visit. It might be the best alteration I have ever seen, for any railroad!

Have an SSW GP40, I think, that I could modify for either version shown to date!
Maybe see if one could get Atlas to do a special run of both units?
Or someone to do a special run?

Sure looks like an ALCO built NYC MOHAWK. Just that some "vandal" over painted the tender with T&P.

Regardless, still a beautiful locomotive that easily could have run on the Hudson and Mohawk Divisions, and Lines West.

T&P Class M2 4-8-2 built by Baldwin 1928. An oil burner, despite the tender appearance. Used in dual service.

    Nice machine.:)

Going back to 2019, we see a group of units that don't belong on former Soo Line, CP tracks at Max, ND.
