Nice images Hemi. (y) I have to applaud whoever thought of naming their company FE Trading.

Probably scrap steel or other scrap metals. Too new to be absolutely thrashed, as most scrap service gons are today.
Since we were discussing Can Openers on the weekly photo thread earlier...

Seen on CP train 149, the daily Chicago-Vancouver intermodal west of Minot:

Sort of like starting a heavy metal band and calling it Ozzy Osmium.

A Soo caboose trails a BNSF transfer job as it moves to the interchange track at the Soo Tower interlocking before dawn.

Hemi, is that caboose used as a shoving platform? Sepp

You are correct; CP and BNSF both use cabooses for shoving platforms, but the old-school rear end treatment is great all the same.

I have posted this image before a long time ago when Rail Images was limited to 640 Pixels wide. The car was waiting to be repaired outside the GATX shop in Hearne, Texas back in February of 2006. Wonder where the draft gear went. ;)

I was barely able to catch this eastbound hospital train. It is led by a pair of ACe's.

Does not appear to be an impact, such as another car hitting it. This looks more like derailment damage. I wonder if the other side was straight?

I wonder if the hogger was just a bit too hot on the throttle and just ripped the draft gear out from slack action?

I liked the Rock Island's re-imaged paint scheme when it was new and I still do. From 08/1981 at Des Plaines, IL. Interesting that the C&NW took the time to also add a small logo adjacent to the big 'R'.

Interesting that so many are the same. Has me wondering if some may be lease returns.

NS 288 holds Main 1 at Wyomissing JCT, waiting to be overtaken by a short 20X, today. NS 288 will soon terminate in Allentown, PA.
