This link has some cool pics of train cars that have found a second life. I particularly like the caboose B&B. All Aboard! Clever Recycled Train Car Homes, Offices & Hotels | WebUrbanist Eric
Wow this is a really neat link! I have always dreamed of taking a boxcar and making a model railroad inside!
I saw the Red Caboose summer of 2008. A bit beyond my budget, but looked nice. Another in Washington is the Iron Horse Inn. A combination of an ex-Milwaukee Road bunk house and several outlying cabooses. http://www.ironhorseinnbb.com/ Boxcab E50
I have stayed overnight in cabeese at Elbe, WA, the Hobo Inn, and Dunsmuir, CA Railroad Park, and have visited the Red Caboose Motel in Strasburg, PA. All are recommended. :tb-biggrin:
I was trying to find the one down the road from me,but instead found this link http://www.kiskijunction.com/RentaCaboose.htm The one at Wildlife Prairie Park is a new one on me.The one down the road from me is Varners Caboose B&B. Their house looks like a depot and they have done a great job with the caboose they have there. I wouldnt mind having a small parcel of land and planting a couple of cab's on it.Told the GF I wanted an old caboose, she wanted to know why. Well the Caboose would be etter than a doghouse when your mad at me!
This is probably my favorite recycled rolling stock: The Izaak Walton Inn in Essex MT They also have three caboose cabins. All right next to an Amtrak station
