The Mt. Rainier Scenic has been shut down. I had made a few trips there in the past and they had some fine steam specimenst there. I wonder what their future will be?
They have or had one of the few surviving Climax types. They did an excellent job of preserving logging road heritage.
Their future is unknown. The present owner is seeking a buyer. But there seem to be some behind the scenes wrinkles, including questions about how it was sold. (Non-profit/not-for-profit to a for profit enterprise?) From what I am told, all is intact to date. There is some upkeep ongoing. But beyond that is a vast unknown.....
