Picked up a free Athearn SD-9, in an incorrect Rio Grande paint. Shell has since been cleaned, motor was just cleaned, as were the trucks and frame. It's an old, original unit, with the cast metal trucks! Looking to maybe remotor this unit. Wondering what a good replacement motor would be, and what dimensions?? Hoping to do a superdetail, or at least a semi superdetail job on it. New grabirons, new headlight castings etc...And maybe DCC/Sound. So, information on a DCC/Sound set up also appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the link! Now that I've been paid, order 2 epower lits! One for the SD9 and another for the Athearn SW7. Also the original, with metal trucks! Hope to add DCC/Sound at some point.
