It's beginning to look close to some serious operating.

Looking very, very nice Paul, nice looking equipment and track work, the whole scene just looks really good. Before I paint weather or ballast switches, I brush that "Neolube" you can get from Micromark liberally on any points or moveable joints for better electrical conductivity. It is a graphite and alcohol liquid that dries right away, its dark in color, and they use it on real switches too. I just skip over the graphite when painting, I have not had any electrical problems since.

After watching your discussion from rack plan to it's coming together, I feel like I am seeing your vision for your layout. As a track plan I couldn't tell what kind of effect the structures would have on the layout. Now that you have a four story building flat behind the yard, I can tell that this is a more urban setting. It's changed my whole impression of what your layout is.

Nice work! I love the MP transfer caboose. Saw one back in 2008 in Orange, TX on the UP. Question... on the siding that serves the backdrop warehouse... doe the track end at the building... or does it keep going? It almost looks like you have it going into what I assume will be a "paved" lot type area? Thanks for sharing! JMS

    John

The siding ends just at the rear of the printing plant where the pavement has gone in

All going well the pavement will be sanded and painted this weekend

That Kato GP35 should be a nice runner but in this day and age the detail is rather sparce and the handrails are a bit on the chunky side imo.

The ratio I seem to recall is a few drops to a bottle of rubbing alcohol. Never heard of diluting it with water, I suppose the alcohol is a better medium for it.

How do you plan to finish the backdrop under that bridge? A mirror? Or?
