My father has a Lionel layout in the works, measuring 8'x12'. His focus is on the trains themselves, and not the realizm of the scenery and whatnot. the track plan is semetrical, running a few seperate tracks, varing from O-27, Atlas O-72, Super O, and Lionel O. So the question is, as far as road bed goes, whats the best suggestion? Like I said before, realizm is not the objective. He picked up a package of the Woodland Scenics road bed, but it seems it wouldn't work too well with the O-27 turns. Any comments would be appreciated.
When I was a member of T.T.O.S. we used cork road bed with the O27 track on our modular layout. It can be purchased in O gauge sized strips or sheets cut into the needed strips. Will ballast be used? Greg Elems
