So, on Rokuhan's catalog website, they list all of their various locomotives and cars.

Yet I do not see on their website, or other American websites selling their stuff - the length of various cars and locos.

I can always look up the actual real world length of the locomotive in question and do a scale calculation. For the common ones like the DD51 and DE10, this works fine. But some of those Japanese cars and locos, it's hard to find any information on their sizes in the real world.

Anyone know of any resources to determine the size of Japanese cars and locos?

You need to go to Japanese sites for reference. I went through the same problem modelling German trains. Use Google translate to convert Japanese to English.

Provide a list of which items you are looking for and if available we can take measurements.

Thanks guys. I'm particularly interested lately in researching smallest length Japanese rolling stock because I've been pushing the curve of my layout tighter, so that my layout depth can be less. Rokuhan stock and locos can take a very tight curve - all are rated for a R95 curve. But even if they can take it, some look rather odd doing so - like the DD51 with its center wheels basically sticking out as it rounds the bend.

In the midst of this post, Rokuhan themselves got back to me with some information.

Rokuhan told me these are their locos best suited for small layouts:

    T012 DE10 Diesel Loco
    T019 C11 Steam Loco

And these are their cars best suited for small layouts:

    T004-5 TAKI 1000
    T024-1 JNR WAMU 70000
    T009-2 Kiha 52-100
T011-1 JR Type115 Electric car Old Nagano Color
    T014-3 JNR Type50 Passenger car 2cars set

Of course this doesn't give me exact measurements but I feel in a better place. I do wonder though - they have other types of freight that look very similar to the WAMU 70000, so I wonder if the WAMU 70000 is smaller, or if they all are the same size.

Rokuhan is your best resource and they will gladly answer to end users like you.

I have a stock of a couple of these items and in my listings I have put measurements (done with caliper):

T009-x KIHA 52-100's are 98mm long (3.84"), coupler to coupler.
    T012-x DE10 73mm long (2.875"), coupler to coupler.

I also have a large stock of the T005-x SEKI 3000 hoppers 2-pack, especially the T005-1 coal car; here are its measurements:
4.1cm long 1.62 inches (end of coupler to end of coupler); Car load area is 1.3 inches (3.3cm) and you can use the load or leave it unloaded.

I am looking for measurements and (if possible) photos and inside measurements of DE10 Rokuhan diesel. Detailed photos of chassis and trucks would be welcome as well.

any of the freight cars will operate right down to R95 curve but then the question of how small can you go and still look good R145 is the smallest that the KIHA looks good on and the C11, the DE10 R120 is smallest curve, in my onion. I have have a micro layout 2x4 and smallest curve is 145 on the figure 8 and 195 on the main lines. In my suitcase layout R120 is my standard curve. r
