Saw this series of die cast vehicles in Hobby Lobby today and see that they're S Scale. This product may be old news to S Scalers, but I thought it was amazing that a mass market manufacturer happened to match a recognized model railroad scale.

[I thought it would be okay to mention the retailer here because I doubt TrainBoard advertisers sell these vehicles. If they do, please delete.]

1/64 is a common size for die-cast vehicles...go online and you will find a wide variety from farm equipment to big trucks

Farm toy shows tend to have a ton of nicely-detailed S-scale vehicles. Trucks mostly and loads of agricultural equipment, but worth the visit.

I have often suffered just a slight pang of jealosy about this. The selection of 1/64 vehicles was great even when the selection of 1/87th vehicles was not. (Either kits or mostly European vehicles back then) It's still one of the big advantages of S scale. If it hadn't been for the much greater availability of train stuff in HO......

I neglected to note here that (I think) Auto World is owned by Round 2, the same company that offers 1/64 Johnny Lighning and and also owns Classic Metal works, so they are no strangers to producing vehicloes that are of interst to model railroaders.
