    Hello all,
I took a little road trip to Orlando , this morning and was wandering around Church St. Station, and was looking at a BLW 0-6-0. This unit is painted for the SAL, and is numbered as 3749, however, being an inquisitive person , I noticed that the builders plate said it was 39696 and the number plate on the front noted it was #10? Does anyone know the history of this unit or the discrepancy of the numbers?

    A bit of research this evening shows SAL 0-6-0's numbered in a couple of series. First off are the F-5, 1090-1099, F-7, 1101-1125, F-7, 1126-1150, L-5,1032, 1034, 1037, 1038, 1040-1042, 1044, 1045, 1048, 1049, 1050-1052, 1054, 1055-1059. I see none numbered as the one you describe. I have no idea what it is.

    Regards,

    Denis ,
I posted the same question on SMRF yesterday and found some answers. It is a former SLSF unit , and was stored in Pensacola, trucked to ORL in the Eighties and was numbered 3749 for the SLSF, and had no affiliation with the SAL. Interesting history of it is , built by BLW in 1911 and also was a movie star alongside the Duke. John Wayne stared in "Wings of Eagles" with the unit while filming in Pensacola. Thanks for the info. Have a good one , Justin May

    Justin

I did see that on the SMRF list. However, I thought that I would fill you in with regard to the SAL numbers for the 0-6-0's.

    Take care.

    Denis
