Thanks for the compliments. No pickle slices :), but here's a few shots of the interior. The cash registers are in the foreground. The soda, punch & tea dispensers on the right (with cup lids above), a stack of bags, trays and napkins by the pick-up window, and to the left the fryers and the famous potato slicer on the wall between the windows:

And here is the dining room, the condiment counter is in the middle, the In-n-Out store display w/ the t-shirt is on the wall above the bench, the doors to the bathrooms, and a few posters.

Will the rest rooms have blow dryers or paper towels? How about soap dispensers?

The straw dispenser needs refilling; and it looks like the shake machine is out-of-order (a typical condition at our local In/Out - so perfect prototype modeling :we2-jimlad:)

Fantastic job on details in and out!:thumbs_up::thumbs_up:

    Awesome

I love watching your Modesto builds. My favorite was the old Mill. I loved Modesto, and lived there for several years when I was working in the bay area. Love that town. I don't remember an In & Out Burger there. I used to always go to the AW drive in tho for Nostalgia (I am also an old hot rodder, and that A&W stand was the inspiration to George Lucas's drive in burger place in his movie American Graffitti, but I am sure you knew that already.. )

Anyway, that said, I may have never gave the In & Out a 2nd thought, because they wern't my thing (I know any native California is ready to poke my eyes out right now, lol). Reginal stuff, me being from Texas originally, love Sonic burger, and REALLY REALLY miss those where I am at now.

And now THAT said.. I know it isn't as interesting of a building, but ya ought to scratch build the A&W Burger drive in. If ya don't care about it being visually accurate, but rather it be more interesting, build the drive in from American Graffiti and put it in it's spot on your layout. The movie version of the burger place is much nostalgic looking than the real one in Modesto..

    Anyway, I digress.. ;)

There is an In-n-Out in Modesto, but it's up the tracks alot further in real life (off of Pelandale) than on my layout. But it's on the edge of my town, where the tracks turn (which they also don't do in real life) so I took a little creative license :)

Love the idea about the A&W! If I do that, my n scale folks are going to have a great selection of places to eat on the layout :)

Here's the building, pretty much completed, still needs a shot of dullcoat on the tiles and HVAC units. Next up is the lot and parking lot - gotta have a place to put the crossed palm trees, the big sign, and the long line of cars backed up from the drive up window :)

And a huge call out to skipgear - who besides giving my ideas on how to do the interior, the sign, and the arrows on the building, made these decals that I think really make the whole project 'pop':

The arrow does point to pride on this very convincing model.

Can I ask what store you modeled this after? The reason I ask is most of the stores have the pay window (1st) on the drive through as part of the kitchen/back room.

Killer job that I think INO would be proud of.

    I need help people.

    Please, can anyone help me?

You see, after seeing this model, my jaw has dropped to the floor, and I can't seem to pick it up.

This model puts the "N" in "In-N-Out"!
