So last week I received a email from bnsf HR department telling me I have been invited for a orientation session and that me email is a placeholder not the invite due to the location not being set. I will receive a official IVR communication and invite email wit details by the end of businesses day April 7. Which is today. I have received nothing yet, problem is the orientation is in Texas I live in California and trying to book flights but due to not receiving the details email I'm stuck and don't know what to do. Has anyone been though this???
This sounds a bit stressful. Is there any sort of contact, email or phone, you could try getting back to the HR people?
I tried calling but with me in California and there HR in Texas I missed them due to time difference. Going to call first thing in the morning. Hopefully I get my email tomorrow, really don't want to stress trying to get a flight last minute
So yes I received a email on 4/9 for the interview on 4/10 quickly made a flight and hotel arrangement and went last week. On Thursday they told me 48-72 for a answer I'm assuming that's businesses at because I ave not herd anything yet. I feel like the interview went.very well and just waiting for a answer. About 70 people showed up and only 12 of us were for welder positions. After the orientation I believe about 30 people had left the interview. Spooky how long did it take to hear something back??
Argon, At the conclusion of my interview, the interviewer said I'd be receiving an offer within forty-eight hours. Sure enough, about two days later I received a conditional offer. I received the final offer about two weeks later once all of my background stuff was complete. Spooky
spooky, thats what im wondering about the interview was thursday, so do i count weekends or continue my 48-72 hrs today. I think im going to call HR if nothing by tomorrow she said i would geta email either way
If I remember correctly, my interview was on a Thursday and I got an e-mail on the following Monday, so I don't think they count the weekend.
well just found out i did not get picked, kind of frustrating I felt like my interview went very well. Not sure if i will be able to keep going to these out of state interviews, I went from cali to texas after flight and hotels plus missing work it really dents the wallet. well see. Does anyone one know if BNSF really sticks to the 6 month rule??
So just found out I did not get picked for this job, kind of depressing after all the time and money spent to get me out to texas from cali, not to mention the time i missed from work. I felt like my interview went very well, not sure if i did not say the right things or say the wrong things. Some people had 10-15 min interviews while others had 5-10. Does anyone know how serious BNSF is with the 6 month rule? Plus i didnt not recive a email saying NO i say it on my BSNF job managment online.
Don't give up! You could always try to call HR and try to find out what happened. Did they provide you with an expense reimbursement form at the interview to help offset the cost of your travel? I know what you mean about it denting the wallet.
no they did not offer any type of remburstment, I called HR today and left a message. Like I said before I have not gotten the NO email, I have not recevied any email retaining to this job interview. I only know because I loged into my BNSF profile and under my job managment It says I was not picked.
If the website was the only indicator, don't give up! I received a couple of rejection e-mails for conductor positions I had applied for but when I checked their status on the website a short time later, the status for those jobs displayed a message as if I had withdrawn my own application as opposed to the "thanks, but no thanks" message that's usually on there. Unfortunately, not all interview sites offer travel reimbursement but you may want to try and find out about it. It may say it on the job info link that's in the Job Management section of the website.
I'm not going to give up this easy I want to work for them. Spooky did you Wait 6 months between interviews? ?
Well, I only had the one I actually went to; I could only afford to go to one. I had a few invites for other locations and several rejections. If they offer you another opportunity, I would just go anyway.. what's there to lose?
So I got the official rejection email this afternoon, but after reading it the 6 month rule only applies to that location not all the maintenance jobs. I have applied to several in Texas so well see what happens with the othera I've applied to. Thanks for all the help and kind words fellas
