The Great Train Show was at Cal Expo in Sacramento this past weekend, and we had a great turnout for the show, even with the big storm. Lots of visitors and interest. Setting up for the show was the usual fun, but we were able to get everything basically ready by Friday evening (still a lot of tweaking left for Saturday morning) The crowds started bright (well, rainy) and early on Saturday
One of our members brought his little switching-in-a-box layout, which he is working to scenic as the San Francisco State Belt RR around WWII time frame And, our yard area was rather full most of the time
The San Felipe desert module, as always, receives a lot of comments (especially for those folks trying to find the four coyotes - one is foreground center in the top photo). I need to work on some of the cracks that have formed from the last couple of transports to shows.
Some bikers came into town, to quench their thirst at the Trackside Tavern near the Silicon Valley Station

Great show!! My gal Naomi LOVED all the weathered buildings. I need to bring you guys the module I've got, it's a 30"(ish) 45 degree turn, has some scenery etc....
This was a great show. My son and I spent quite a few hours wandering around all of the booths and layouts. That desert module was certainly one of the very cool modules to see. I missed the yard being full but there was a lot of modules to look at
I would love to go to one of these shows. As an AFOL I spied a lego booth in the backround. Did they have any cool custom lego trains? I love those cab-forward steam engines too...
Started to put up likes, but figured it would be easier to just say it, wow! It sure is looking good!
Really wanted to attend, but Oregon was snowed in and no one was getting over the state line without a Sherpa LOL Joe
Maybe you can make the San Jose show, next month. The storm was quite something, but the folks kept coming all weekend. It was coming down hard right when the show closed, and getting vehicles into the building was a zoo, so that we didn't have to load them outside and get all the equipment soaked. The real surprise was how empty I-80 was from Sacramento back down to the Bay Area. A typical Sunday winter evening drive would easily take 2.5-3 hours (4 lanes of parking lot), but my wife and I made it from our daughter's house to our house in an hour and 40 minutes! Everyone stayed home due to the storm.
