Anyone having knowledge of rail operations, locations, industry, Port of Stockton, etc. during the mid-60s to mid 80s please drop me a line. My son and I are considering modeling a portion of Stockton because of our interest in AT&SF, SP, and WP.

There was a fair amount of industry in the 70's and early 80's. After the Reagon years it was pretty lean but UP did get some new industry in to replace the ones that left. My favorite industry was what we called the pea patch. It had a runaround and several wharehouses and a tomato processing plant. It also served John Mansville, who made pipe in different sizes. We would haul out one to 25 cars to work out there and they would be a mixture of boxs, tanks, reefers and covered hoppers. They also was CPC corn plant with unit corn trains coming in and later hoppers of coal at a co-genorating plant next to them. That was just on the south end of Stockton yard on the UP side. SP had industries all up and down their line. We shared serving the Port of Stockton with the SP and Santa Fe, one year at a time for each railroad.
