Wow! That is a whole new level of stupid. That person really needs something to occupy his time, because he has moved into the deathly bored stage of his life...or he's on drugs- I'm not sure which. What an inconsiderate a**hole.

There is playing with trains and there is playing with trains. The worst that can happen to us is a mild shock.

This thread has a perfect title! And I do agree with a potential Darwin Award.

Nothing too graphic. It's probably on a site that does host more graphic content.

The clip shows some idiot dancing around on the train tracks and you hear a horn whistle and then the guy jumps off the tracks at the last minute as a french train goes by doing atleast 65 MPH. It's incredibly stupid and amazing. It's a wonder we didn't see an explosion of red as the train hit him, because it looks like he just barely gets out of the way.

If he keeps it up, we will eventually. He'll slip or be a little slow one day and that'll be it.

On a similar note - did anybody watch a TV show last week entitled "Most Outragous TV Moments" or something similar? One of the clips had a reporter standing on some tracks. She was talking about something but I couldn't make it out because there was a train barrelling down the tracks furiously blowing its horn. The reporter moved to the edge of the tracks just before the train would have hit her. When the train went by - the wind blew her hair and clothes. She then something like, "That scared the BEEP out of me."

I realy didn't find it too amusing. I figured reporters would have at least some level of education and would know better. Just goes to show how ignorant people are sometimes

Don't bet on reporters intelligence. The guy in the film clip was probably a reporter. :D

Thats pretty stupid. That guy got barely within 6 inches of getting hit by that train. If his reflexes had been slower he would be have been killed

This event could also signal the latest in an adrenaline junky craze. Who knows. I would like to nominate that guy as a possible for the Darwin award as was previously mentioned.

Every time I watch it I am simply amazed. The combination of stupid and luck and stupid and luck and... Sooner or later his buddy is going to catch a really amazingly stupid darwin moment.

If the Moderators and Charlie agree, I can post a couple of seriously graphic photos of what was left when a stoopid idiot does NOT make it in time, if you guys really have a strong stomache. It isn't pretty, but is really an actual photo of the remains. Believe it or not, one of them was a girl, you will just have to take my word for it.

It shows why some of us lose sympathy for the suicide clowns.

I'll wait to see what you say about posting such things on here.

You can't win a Darwin Award if you're alive. In addition, if he did get killed but had a child first, he is still not able to win it.

I read an article back some time about a trolly dodger in San Fransico who would jump out off the way of trolly cars and pretend he was hurt. Then he would tell the engineer that if he compensated him he would not report it to the company. He made a pretty good living at it. Thing is those trollies were moving a whole lot slower!!

    Hey,
In Jan. 2004,2 days back on the job after an accident that involved a fatality, a kid jumps into the gauge in front of me  . With all the snow,he couldn't get back on the station platform [IMG] . I was x-ing thru on way back to Hoboken. I dumpped the train & layed on the horn. What saved his life was his friend grabbed him by his jacket & pulled him out of the way. I did hit his foot, but he ran like hell. when train stopped my conductor, who was 6'8" tall & 275 lbs.,pushed me back in my seat. Since the train didn't get him ,I was going to get him.Needless to say,I couldn't get past my conductor [IMG] . The kid got saved twice.
