I ran a pair of bus wires under the layout. Grouped the fixture wires to about three or four per stripped section (On the bus). Mounted an on-off toggle on the fascia.

Just a heads up: The wiring on these fixtures is very delicate. Handle them with care. (Don't ask me how I know - LOL)

    Thanks,
    Wolf

I just reading this. Could just put a crashed vehicle and power company out to fix the power. That would explain the lights not working.

decided to have a go at printing some lights to see how they came out, perfect opportunity to test the printers ability with small details. Made up two lights, a small one - 0.196 x 0.08 x 0.035 and a bigger one, 0.280 x 0.110 x 0.040. I was mightily surprised that they came out ok, and even the shade's worked!

I was thinking a fire scene with the hoses made of wire feeding the unpowered lights though hoses and hydrants then under the sidewalks to lamps

Ok...so our decorative lamp posts got here today. I do have to say...the z scale decorative lamp post that SP-Wolf (y)(y) recommended look a heckuva lot better on an N scale layout then anything N scale sized that I have found...

Now all I have to do is make sure they all light...glue them down..and then wire them in. 47 lights in 7 feet !!!:cool: Starting at the street light in the bottom left corner clear up to the bridge in the top right of this picture...

Those small street lamps are perfect for a downtown scene in front of stores, office and apartment buildings. The taller ones are also great... but look better in less congested urban settings. You have mixed both types into the scene very well!!!

I just received a small bag with the tall lights which appear to be drop-shipped out of New York. They look to be well made and hope they work well. I have to wait to install them since my layout is currently no where near complete.

I guess the smaller dome lights will be coming from a different source in a few weeks.

46 more lights to go :) BTW, I like your town scene. What are you using for the roads and the curbs?

Roads are just painted in with black chalkboard paint. Curbing is .080 styrene cut to 6" scale width.
