    Well....

I got my new day cab tractors. I used 2 for my box trucks. The other 2 will haul some pup trailers around town. I bashed 2 trailers as placeholders until I can find (2) 20' to 30' pups. The lot at the warehouse wont hold anything longer...:(

N scale Pup Trailers are as scarce as hen's teeth to find anywhere. I may have to go on the Dark Web o_O:(:(

I also made a stake bed truck for J&J Ranch from one of the the old semi tractors :D

That scene is coming together nicely sir. Cutting down the height of the dock was a good call. Looks so much better. The box trucks turned out well too. I've repurposed some of those Atlas Ford tractors as straight trucks as well. Will have to share some pics. In fact, I have another I'm going to be doing soon.

I really like what you did with the farm truck. (y) Really has that worn and used look you see on some of the old equipment on a farm or ranch. What did you use for the bed section?

Oh, and don't turn to the dark web just yet. Have a little patients and I have a feeling something may turn up for you that will work.

    Thanks. :D

The bed of the truck...I just used some really thin styrene I had laying around. It is a 3 sided box...with no lid. ;) I had originally cut the sides to go on top of the bed. The styrene is so thin it was too fragile and would bend or fall in. I decided to glue the sides to the edge of the bottom piece or 'bed'. I painted the whole thing with a brown paint pen to give it that rustic weathered look of paneled wood. Then to give the illusion the sides are on top of the truck bed........ I took a fat tipped black magic marker and held it at a 45 degree angle and traced around the whole bottom edge ! This gave a pretty thin straight line and it looks like the edge of a black painted metal bed of the truck. At least to me...;):whistle:

Hi George, Did you ever notice how many exemptions there are in the FMCSR for farm trucks and hours of service. Proves what an important industry farming is to this nation. Your farm truck also reflects that farmers are not getting wealthy farming, but they continue to run their farms out of passion for the industry. (y)

    So true Rich...(y)(y)

That reminds me...I need to make a 'slow moving vehicle' triangle for the back of the truck and the other farm vehicles ! (y)(y)

Do a search for Athearn n scale 28' pup trailers. A lot on ebay with a premium but if you look around you kind still find them in stock at some stores for less then $30 a set. Very nicely done rivaling trainworx fit and finish.

I've 2 sets of their YRC and 1 set of Yellow. Anxiously awaiting trainworx releasing their Yellow K100 day cab kits which should mate up nice with the pups.

    Really cool scene!

That long trailer in the first pic would make an interesting scene, with the tractor off at an angle (e.g. pointing toward the camera), as it would be if the driver had to avoid traffic on the street while backing up to the dock. Just something a little different...

Or for a more dynamic scene, show traffic backed up while the tractor-trailer is blocking the road, lining up to back up to the dock. Maybe with a couple of workers flagging traffic.

I like scenes that tell a story...

There's a business on Division St here in Arlington TX where a tractor-trailer rig often has to block the 5 lane road to back up into the narrow drive back to the dock. Division St was once the old US Hwy 80, the main highway between Dallas and Fort Worth, before the Dallas/Fort Worth Turnpike, later renamed I-30, took over.

    George,

    Cool stuff !

As far as prices on the bay, there are newbies in the hobby that don't know better and are willing to pay the exorbitant prices. As long as the customers are willing to pay these kind of prices then the prices will stay high or get higher. Me, I have never done that.

Look I might have a tiny 2' x 4' layout. But I am happy everyday that it is in climate controlled area, or in the house with heat and air conditioning. I feel for those that don't have that option. But you make it work, so there is that :)

Yeah...THERR RV does have a good heater in it. It just takes 30+ minutes to get the temperature where it warms everything up...including the layout. Not a problem...I just come inside and get on TB for that 30 minutes..and have coffee of course. :coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee:

Nice that the coffin place has a Delta truck in front of it instead of an Omicron. But isn't Dr. Acula a hematologist?
